Quantum Computation as a Dynamical Process

چکیده
In this paper, we discuss the dynamical issues of quantum computation. We demonstrate that fast wave function oscillations can affect the performance of Shor’s quantum algorithm by destroying required quantum interference. We also show that this destructive effect can be routinely avoided by using resonant-pulse techniques. We discuss the dynamics of resonant pulse implementations of quantum logic gates in Ising spin systems. We also discuss the influence of non-resonant excitations. We calculate the range of parameters where undesirable non-resonant effects can be minimized. Finally, we describe the “2πk-method” which avoids the detrimental deflection of non-resonant qubits.

Coalgebraic Quantum Computation
Coalgebras generalize various kinds of dynamical systems occuring in mathematics and computer science. Examples of systems that can be modeled as coalgebras include automata and Markov chains. We will present a coalgebraic representation of systems occuring in the field of quantum computation, using convex sets of density matrices as state spaces. This will allow us to derive a method to conver...

In this paper, by considering a system consisting of a single two-level trapped ion interacting with a single-mode quantized radiation field inside a lossless cavity, the temporal evolution of the ionic and the cavity-field quantum statistical properties including photon-counting statistics, quantum fluctuations of the field quadratures and quantum fluctuations of the ionic dipole variables are...
متن کاملA Quantum Logic Gate Representation of Quantum Measurement: Reversing and Unifying the Two Steps of von Neumann’s Model
In former work, quantum computation has been shown to be a problem solving process essentially affected by both the reversible dynamics leading to the state before measurement, and the logical-mathematical constraints introduced by quantum measurement (in particular, the constraint that there is only one measurement outcome). This dual influence, originated by independent initial and final cond...

متن کاملDesigning a quantum genetic controller for tracking the path of quantum systems
Based on learning control methods and computational intelligence, control of quantum systems is an attractive field of study in control engineering. What is important is to establish control approach ensuring that the control process converges to achieve a given control objective and at the same time it is simple and clear. In this paper, a learning control method based on genetic quantum contr...
